How We Install Gas Fireplaces in Carrollwood

Vent parts from the listed system
Each direct-vent system is tested with specific vent components, and the manual lists which pipe, elbows, terminations and kits can be used. Mixing in look-alike parts from another system can leave joints that do not seal as tested.

Using an existing chimney as the vent path
Some direct-vent units can vent through an existing masonry chimney, using a liner or conversion kit the manual lists for that purpose. The manual also warns that a gas vent must not connect to a chimney that serves a solid-fuel appliance.
Our specialists check whether your chimney can serve as a vent path for the model you want and which listed kit it would take. If it cannot, a wall or roof vent is priced instead.
Facing materials around the opening
The surface right around the fireplace opening usually has to be noncombustible, and the manual defines what that means for the model, typically materials such as tile, stone, brick, steel or cement board.
Our pros check your chosen facing against the manual before it is ordered. Tile, stone and trim that sit outside the noncombustible zone still follow the model's clearance rules. A product sold as heat resistant is not automatically noncombustible, so the manual's definition is the one that counts.
Power for ignition, fans and controls
Many gas fireplaces need electrical power for electronic ignition, fans, lights or remote receivers. Makers call for the unit to be wired and grounded to local codes or NFPA 70, and at least one notes that spark ignition can interfere with a TV on the same circuit.
New wiring or a new circuit is a job for an electrician, and our estimate names that work. Our pros plan the receptacle or junction box location to the manual.
