The chimney comes from the same listed system
Florida's residential code, section R1005.1, requires factory-built chimneys to be listed, labeled, and installed and terminated per the manufacturer's instructions. Chimney makers are just as firm. DuraVent's DuraTech instructions tell installers to use only authorized parts and not to mix them with other products or improvised pieces.
A pipe that fits physically is not automatically approved. The fireplace manual names the chimney systems it was tested with, and our team installs one of those, from the fireplace connection to the cap. The parts are listed in your estimate for the project in Lake Magdalene.
Chimney pipe rated for wood fires
Wood fires produce hot exhaust, and the chimney has to be built for it. Section R1005.3 of the Florida residential code requires factory-built chimneys serving solid-fuel appliances in homes to meet the Type HT requirements of UL 103, and to be marked Type HT and Residential Type and Building Heating Appliance Chimney.
